Start with the person, not the holiday
A heaven reunion video can be for Día de Muertos, and it can also be for a birthday or the anniversary of a death. The date is only a reason to sit down with two photographs. This guide is for adults remembering adults. It is not a project for a child's picture, and it is not a costume or a joke. Before you upload anything, decide whether you want the result only for yourself or for a small family chat. An AI tribute scene, not a real recording. An AI tribute, not a real recording. If you are making it as a gift, ask first. Grief does not run on a content calendar.
Choose Photo 1 and Photo 2
Photo 1 is the living adult who moves through the scene. That can be you, or another adult who agreed to appear. Photo 2 is the adult you miss. One person in each file. Look at the eyes, the age, and the size of the head. A sharp three-quarter portrait is often kinder than a tiny figure in a crowded room. Old prints and black-and-white photographs are welcome when the face is still readable. Match the head sizes if you can, because a huge close-up beside a distant picnic makes one face hard to keep. Skip sunglasses, masks, and hair that covers the eyes. Skip hospital beds and medical scenes. Choose a moment when they looked like themselves.
Say no to the photographs that do not belong
Both photos must show adults 18 or older. We never make tributes with children's photos, including a school portrait or a baby picture of someone who later grew up. Public figures are declined. Two copies of the same person are declined. A group photograph is declined. If the face is too blurry, too dark, or bent by a heavy filter, the preview will ask for another file. These refusals are there so the scene stays gentle and so you do not spend credits on a picture you would not want to see. Read the Hug in Heaven photo tips if a message is unclear.
Pick a style and look at the still
Stairway of Light is a golden stair in soft cloud, for any day of the year. Marigold Path is the Día de Muertos scene: petals, candlelight, and cut-paper flowers, with no skulls and no frightening costume. The free preview is one watermarked still of the opening moment, with both adults visible. Compare it with your photographs before you continue. Check that nobody looks like a child, that the faces have not blended, and that no words or religious symbols appeared. The paid video continues from that still for about 15 seconds, vertical, with original piano and strings and a silent copy.
Pay with the credits you already understand
One tribute is 10 credits. The Single pack is $5.99 for 10 credits. Three tributes are 30 credits, the Starter pack at $13.99. There is no separate product for this page. Credits do not expire. You must be 18 or older, and you confirm that Photo 1 is you or an adult who agreed and that Photo 2 is a family member or loved one you have the right to remember this way. We never use your photos or videos to train AI models. Photos are deleted after 7 days and videos after 30 days, so download what you want to keep. One free re-make is available for 24 hours. If it still does not feel like them, write to support.
Keep the name off the picture
A name of up to 20 characters and a sentence of up to 140 characters can sit on a tribute page. They are for your family. They are not written into the video. The page is left out of search. Anyone with the link can open it, which is why WhatsApp and a copied link are often enough, and why you should not post the link somewhere you would not post the original photographs. You can delete the page later. If you do post, keep the AI-generated label. A short caption is enough: One more hug. The music in the file is original. It is not a commercial song and it does not imitate a singer.
After 2 November, the path stays
Through 2 November 2026 the marigold page uses a Día de Muertos heading. From 3 November the same address uses Marigold Path Tribute Video. The stairway page shifts its opening lines toward birthdays and anniversaries. Nothing about the upload rules changes. You can make the video in English or on the Spanish page, Abrazo en el Cielo. Use the language your family will actually read. The scene is still an imagined tribute. It does not replace a visit, a meal, a prayer, or the way you already remember.
A last look before you share
Watch the silent version once, without music, and see whether the embrace feels calm. Watch the version with music if you want company in the room. If an arm looks wrong, or a face drifted, use the free re-make rather than explaining the error in a caption. You own the video you create and you may use it for personal and commercial purposes when you have the rights to the photographs and you keep the AI label. The terms of service are the place for those conditions. Then close the laptop if you want. Making the scene is optional. The photograph was already enough.
