Photo tips for Hug in Heaven

Two clear photographs of adults. One of you, and one of the person you miss.

An AI tribute scene, not a real recording. An AI tribute, not a real recording.

Photo 1 and Photo 2

Photo 1 is you, or another living adult who agreed to be in the scene. Photo 2 is the adult you miss. Use one person in each file. A second person in the background, even far away, is treated as more than one person. Keep the heads a similar size so neither face becomes a speck.

What is accepted

A sharp, well-lit portrait of one adult. A three-quarter view is as useful as a straight-on view when both eyes show. Color or black-and-white. A slightly faded print is fine if the eyes, nose, and mouth are still clear. JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB, at least 256 pixels on each side.

What is declined

Any minor, including a childhood photograph of someone you miss: Both photos must show adults (18+). We never make tributes with children's photos. A public figure: We can't use photos of public figures. The same person twice: Please use two different people. More than one person: One person per photo. Sunglasses or a mask over the eyes: Please use a photo where the eyes are visible. A blurry, dark, or heavily filtered face: We couldn't see the face clearly—try another photo. A hospital bed, medical equipment, or a deathbed: Please choose a photo of your loved one from a happy moment.

Before you pay

The free preview is the moment to compare both faces with your photographs. If someone looks younger than the photo, like a child, or like a blend of both people, stop. Try another picture or the one free re-make after you have a video. The name and the sentence you add later stay on the tribute page. They are not painted into the scene.

A few things you might be wondering

Can the photos be different sizes?

Yes. Similar head sizes are easier to recognize. Avoid pairing a large close-up with a tiny distant face.

Are childhood photos allowed if the person is an adult now?

No—never. We never make tributes with children's photos.
